Engineering Excellence in Mining Hardware
We bridge the gap between complex semiconductor hardware and everyday facility operation through hands-on bench training, electrical feasibility audits, and thermal airflow design.
Founded on the Workshop Bench in 2019
Smart Work Point Pty Ltd was officially established in 2019 in Gippsland, regional Victoria.
Our origins grew out of a direct, practical necessity: when early generation ASIC miners began suffering hashboard domain failures and power supply breakdowns in regional Australia, operators were faced with costly 12-week international freight turnarounds or writing off expensive silicon.
We built our dedicated diagnostic workshop at 42 Church Road, Seaton VIC 3858 to provide Australian miners, commercial solar operators, and facility electricians with the physical tools, diagnostic jigs, and micro-soldering techniques required to diagnose and repair hardware right here in Australia.
Hands-On Reality Over Abstract Theory
Every training module is delivered with multimeters, oscilloscopes, and real hashboards under live test conditions.
Component-Level Integrity
We reject the throwaway mindset of modular swapping. By isolating individual shorted LDO regulators and micro-soldering replacement ASIC silicon, we preserve hardware investments and eliminate unnecessary e-waste.
Australian Climate Adaptation
Mining equipment designed in temperate climates struggles during Australian 42°C heatwaves. We teach positive-pressure ventilation, evaporative cooling physics, and automated dynamic frequency curves adapted to regional conditions.
Small-Cohort Bench Attention
We cap our workshop cohorts at 6 to 8 participants. Every attendee gets an assigned workstation with an oscilloscope, thermal camera, and precision rework station for uninterrupted practice.
Led by Practicing Hardware Engineers
Our instructors diagnose and repair commercial ASIC hardware every working day.
Lachlan Evans
Lachlan holds a degree in Electronic Systems Engineering and has repaired over 1,800 ASIC hashboards since 2019. He specializes in domain voltage topology analysis, BGA reballing stencils, and custom diagnostic test fixture firmware.
Marcus Thorne
Marcus is an electrical consultant with extensive experience in commercial 3-phase switchboard design, transformer derating, and dielectric immersion cooling loops. He leads our on-site facility feasibility audits and solar curtailment masterclasses.
