Immersion Cooling & Dielectric Fluid Systems Course

Program Overview & Scope

Immersion cooling eliminates fan acoustic noise, protects hashboards from dust and humidity, and allows controlled overclocking. This workshop provides hands-on experience with single-phase hydrocarbon and synthetic dielectric fluids, brazed plate heat exchangers, closed-loop cooling towers, and safety protocols.

Who This Course Is For

Residential miners targeting silent operation, off-grid operators dealing with dust, and commercial hosts seeking maximum hash density.

What Is Included (Deliverables)

  • Hands-on preparation of ASIC miners for liquid submersion (fan removal, thermal interface replacement)
  • Pump sizing calculations, fluid flow rate optimization, and tank manifold balancing
  • Fluid maintenance testing: dielectric breakdown voltage, viscosity changes, and particulate filtering
  • Dry cooler selection for Australian summer ambient conditions (up to 45°C ambient)

Prerequisites & Preparation

General familiarity with ASIC operation and standard computer hardware.

What Is Not Included

Supply of commercial immersion tanks or bulk dielectric fluid shipments.

Detailed Schedule & Practical Sequence

09:00 – 12:30

Fluid Dynamics & Tank Design Principles

Thermodynamic heat exchange curves, dielectric fluid chemistry, material compatibility (avoiding PVC degradation), and piping.

13:30 – 17:00

Live Immersion Rig Submersion & Tuning

Submerging hardware, installing fan emulator spoofs, custom firmware tuning, and real-time delta-T temperature monitoring.
